Your trip begins with an introduction to the colonial heritage of Lima, with visits to the cathedral and the San Francisco Monastery. Then drive to Ica for a flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines—geometric etchings left by ancient Peruvians—and a cruise around the Ballestas Islands. Return to Lima and fly to Cuzco, once the capital of the Inca Empire, and spend the day in the Sacred Valley.
